Founded in 1988, the firm celebrates nearly four decades of service to operators, financial
institutions, and the energy industry while expanding into new technology and the next
generation of reserves analysis.
Brentwood, TN, July 1, 2026 – Wright & Company, a leading independent petroleum engineering and
reserves consulting firm, today marks its 38th anniversary, celebrating a legacy of service, reputation,
and reliability built across nearly four decades, thousands of reserves evaluations, and hundreds of
clients.
Since its founding on July 1, 1988, Wright & Company has helped operators, financial institutions, and
other energy industry stakeholders navigate market cycles through independent evaluations of oil and
gas assets, as well as expert opinions and testimony in legal disputes.
The firm built its reputation during the emergence of the Appalachian shale plays, becoming one of the
most relied-upon independent consultants for the Marcellus and Utica. As horizontal drilling unlocked
these formations, Wright & Company served many of the basin’s pioneering operators and, at the height
of the play’s development, supported a significant share of the companies active across the region. That
work established the firm as a go-to authority for reserves evaluation in Appalachia and beyond.
“For 38 years, our clients have trusted us to give them an honest, rigorous, and dependable assessment
of their assets,” said Randy Wright, Founder and President of Wright & Company. “We were there at the
beginning of the Marcellus and the Utica, and we have been there through every cycle since. That
consistency, year after year, is what our reputation is built on.”
Today, Wright & Company’s work spans the major basins and plays across the country, including the
Permian, Haynesville, and Eagle Ford, in addition to its longstanding Appalachian roots. Through its core
consulting practice and its Wright Energy Advisors and Wright Analytics Group divisions, the firm serves
operators, lenders, and transaction clients with reserves evaluations, advisory services, and analytics.
As it enters its 39th year, the firm is investing in the technology and talent that will define the next era of
reserves analysis. Wright & Company is integrating advanced analytics and artificial intelligence into its
evaluation process, helping clients save time and money on drilling and completion decisions, while
continuing to develop the next generation of industry leaders. The firm’s commitment to mentoring was
recently recognized when one of its engineers, Adam Null was named to Hart Energy’s 40 Under 40.
“Thirty-eight years is a milestone worth celebrating, but we are just as focused on what comes next,”
Wright added. “The same standards that earned our reputation are now driving how we adopt new
technology and grow our team. Our clients can count on Wright & Company being a trusted partner for
decades to come.”
Wright & Company invites clients, colleagues, and industry partners to join in marking this milestone
throughout the year.
